Urgent Message to Our Customers
CourtSmart's Response to the COVID-19 outbreak and how we can help.
Our nation is undergoing an unprecedented crisis that necessitates caution, care, and creative solutions in keeping our country vital and productive. The judicial system is vital to our country and to that end we at CourtSmart have been assisting our customers to creatively utilize technology to keep the courts viable and performing necessary functions.
Collaboration Tools
Due to the immediate COVID-19 situation, many local, state, and federal entities are taking precautions by closing their facilities, postponing scheduled events, or allowing their operations to continue remotely. CourtSmart's customers within the Courts, Legislatures, and Law Enforcement are likely to follow similar practices resulting in the need to conduct virtual proceedings remotely and recording these proceedings on their CourtSmart systems. Video Conferencing for remote arraignments and hearings is quickly becoming the only means to keep everyone safe and productive.
CourtSmart suggests the simplest and least disruptive temporary solution for virtual sessions would be to utilize a remote collaboration tool such as Spontania, Skype, WebEx, GoToMeeting, or similar cloud-based conferencing services to record audio and video for these proceedings. Most conferencing software packages have the ability to record streams from multiple end-points in an MP4, M4A, MP3, WMA, WMV, or OGG formats to a cloud. Once the virtual session is completed, the CourtSmart Client software V.4.9 can import these files to the CourtSmart Servers and index them on the SQL database for quick retrieval, reproduction , or transcription. It will be important to properly label the pertinent information per file created such as a case number, caption, or type as you would with the current recordings.
In situations where video may not be required or a cloud based solution is not practical or wanted, CourtSmart technology can provide direct and automatic VOIP recording of teleconferencing proceedings directly to the servers, time stamped and indexed in the database as if it was recorded in your courtrooms. Our software has been utilized for this application in jurisdictions prior to the current situation.
Ai Technology
CourtSmart Ai technology can also efficiently and quickly transcribe these proceedings. The raw transcripts are indexed to the audio files and can be edited and finalized for appellate purposes if needed. This technology is fast and extremely cost effective. CourtSmart software has been developed to integrate this process and to facilitate the editing of these rough drafts should that be needed.
