The video is recorded and stored with the audio. CourtSmart utilizes mpeg-4 compression codecs for the highest quality video and minimal size. The system allows for the playback of a recorded session while the session is continuing to record. The video record can also be exported along with the audio to a CD.
CourtSmart optional video capture systems can digitize and record multiple video streams simultaneously and synchronize them with multiple audio streams. CourtSmart utilizes video servers and hardware compression to provide any resolution and frame rate that would be desired. These frame rates and resolution can be varied depending upon the proceeding and courtroom to maximize storage and efficiency.
Logic signals triggered by microphones levels can snap video images of speakers and automatically attach these photos to the record for later speaker identification. With or without the user selected option to record the video, the CourtSmart video streaming application can send live full motion video to any workstation connected to the LAN or WAN providing bandwidth is available. This will provide a judge or law clerk authorized to do so the ability the see a live proceeding in any courtroom. CourtSmart streamed video services are fully secured to prevent hacking and changing the video. We are currently in the process of providing signatures or watermarks on each frame for verification of authenticity and maintenance of chain of custody requirements. This streamed video capture can be done along with video capture and in a control room environment monitors can see both the live streamed video as well as the recorded video for assurance that the record is being produced.
