Open Architecture
CourtSmart digital recording technology is the perfect solution for law enforcement agencies where verbatim audio and video recordings are necessary. CourtSmart technology goes far beyond the simple DVR systems. CourtSmart technology does not use proprietary hardware eliminating the obsolescence factor and assuring the agency that upgrades and new technology can easily be employed.
Multiple Video Streams
CourtSmart technology utilizes a hybrid approach to recording. Existing cameras can be used if desired and both analog and IP cameras can be used together on the CourtSmart system. CourtSmart video recording technology can record two different streams of video for each interview room. This means that you can have a close up view of the interviewee and an overall view of the room and environment. Each image can individually be controlled for reproduction to CD or DVD should you only desire to view one or the other image. Of course both can be displayed simultaneously.
Integrated Audio and Archiving
Audio for one or many microphones is automatically synchronized to the video images and the resulting file is indexed on the database and automatically archived to DVD or Blu-Ray for permanent off site storage. The recording servers are redundant for fault tolerant recording should a failure occur on the system. CourtSmart fault tolerance assures that the recording will be preserved.
Security
CourtSmart recording files are encrypted for security and these files cannot be altered or deleted. CourtSmart maintains user access security through user profiles in the SQL database. The system administrator issues rights to each user allowing authorized users to perform only authorized functions in specific locations. For example, you can limit access to only homicide or burglary proceedings or limit access to only certain locations if multiple locations are being recorded. This is all integrated in the CourtSmart application.
Fault Tolerance
CourtSmart provides redundant recording systems that assure continued operation in the event of a component failure. The CourtSmart servers can store a year or more of recordings for instant access by authorized users over a LAN/WAN or duplicated in CD or DVD.
Secured Proceedings
An interview or portion of an interview can be secured or "sealed" to prevent access by anyone with out a special password and software key. This would allow the securing of child interviews or security interviews and prevent access from unauthorized individuals. This is also controlled through the CourtSmart software.
