CourtSmart Additions
CourtSmart is far more than a digital recording system, it is a virtual data management technology continually developing additional tools and features that aid in the capture and managing of the verbatim record.
CourtChat
CourtChat is a messaging system that comes with CourtSmart recording and client licenses that allows messages to be sent from one CourtSmart user to another or group of users that can be designated by whomever originates the message. This would allow for example a message from a control room to a courtroom without disrupting proceedings. Messages could be sent to a judges PC notifying the bench of a particular need or message. Courtrooms could communicate among one another to locate an attorney who is being called in one courtroom and maybe having a matter heard in another.
Multi-Site Wide Area Networking
CourtSmart's unique managed solution provides all the tools to manage remote sites from a central control room located virtually anywhere that connectivity can be established. CourtSmart Muti-Site control software allows an operator for example to select and stream audio and video from any courtroom connected on the LAN or WAN and control all functions within that courtroom or groups of courtrooms regardless of what servers they may be recorded on. Complete flexibility allows for managing an entire circuit any way that makes sound economical sense.
Recording Indicator Lights
CourtSmart can optionally supply plexiglass recording displays in the courtrooms or hearing rooms to indicate for the bench and parties the status of the recording. For example when the system is recording the displays glow blue from the numerous LED devices in the displays. When the system is not recording the display has no color. Should the system be muted intentionally or there is a problem with a microphone or channel, the display will flash notifying the courtroom and/or control room of a potential problem.
Barcode Scanning
CourtSmart allows for the capture of barcoding for case identification or function. A wide variety of barcode readers can be used connected to a courtroom PC and transmitted to the servers or can be directly connected to the network without a PC. As with all CourtSmart functions this can be performed within the courtroom or remotely.
Document Capture
Document capture and evidence presentation are also designed into the CourtSmart system. CourtSmart interfaces with a wide variety of capture devices.
CourtSmart Client software provides an interface that allows document capture devices to transmit their images over network connections to the CourtSmart servers. This process can be managed from within the courtroom by clerks, court reporters, bailiffs or judges. It can also be controlled from a central control room or any combination of the above. CourtSmart can interface with a variety of devices.
